Spray the space, never the cat

Spray objects and places: the blanket inside the carrier, their bed, a favourite corner, the back seat of the car. Never spray your cat directly or near their face.

The 15-minute rule

Spray, then wait about 15 minutes before your cat goes near the spot. That gives the scent time to settle.

Where to spray for each moment

• Vet trips and car rides: the blanket inside the carrier, 15 minutes before you need to leave. Leave the carrier door open.
• Moving home: their bed and the first room they explore.
• Visitors: the spot they hide in, so it stays a safe place.
• A new pet: shared spaces before the first introductions.
• Fireworks and storms: their bed and the room they retreat to.

How often

The scent lasts a few hours. Re-apply before each trip or new situation.

Good to know

• Keep out of reach of children and pets.
• Don't spray food or water bowls.
• If your cat's behaviour changes suddenly, talk to your vet first.
